Younis, Yousaf omitted from PCB central contract list

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced 18 players, who have been awarded the central contracts, excluding of Mohammad Yousaf and Younis Khan - who have been banned for indefinite period, however both Shoaib Malik and Rana Naved ul Hasan automatically has been overlooked due to the 12 months ban, imposed by the PCB.

"The decision[awarding the central contract] was taken in consultation with Chairman Selection Committee Mohsin Hasan Khan," PCB said in a statement. "The contracts would be effective for one year starting from January 1, 2010."

The PCB has considered the trio - all-rounder Shahid Afridi, wicketkeeper Kamran Akmal and his brother Umar, who were fined heavily for indiscipline and are on probation for six months, during which their conduct will be strictly monitored. But other penalised player - Yousuf, Younis, Malik and Naved were all missed out from the central contract list.

The board in addition apart from the three categories introduced a special 'stipend category', which has been offered to top performers of domestic season and budding under-19 and other players.

Asad Shafiq, Junaid Khan, Aamir Sajjad, Naveed Yasin, Azhar Ali and Tanvir Ahmad are among the top performers in domestic season while Azeem Ghumman, Hammad Azam, Baber Azam, Raza Hasan, Sarmad Bhatti and Usman Qadir were the members of Pakistan U-19 team that reached Final of the U-19 world cup held in New Zealand, all have been handed the special type of contact and will get Rs. 50,000 PKR per month.

B Category:Umar Akmal, Mohammad Aamir, Saeed Ajmal, Faisal Iqbal, Misbahul Haq, Imran Farhat.
