Glorious five-wicket haul by Doug Bollinger and inspiring bowling by Mitchell Johnson led Australia to a series victory over India at Nehru Stadium in Guwahati. Australia restricted the host to 170 in the sixth one-day international and then piled down the moderate target in 41.5 overs with the loss of four wickets to seal an unassailable 4-2 lead in the seven-match series.

Australia in reply however lost four wickets in pursue of the target but a man in form Mike Hussey (35) kept his nervous in control and secure the way towards victory, remained unbeaten with Adam Voges - who smacked two successive boundaries off Sachin Tendulkar to end the match.

Opener Shaun Marsh (6) departed early but Shane Watson continued his run feast featured in a 61-run partnership with Ricky Ponting (25) for the second wicket before felling to Harbhajan Singh followed by Ricky Ponting who was caught by Suresh Raina off Harbhajan.

India after winning the toss stalled its five wicket on the score of 27 on the board as left arm seamer outclassed Sachin Tendulkar (10) and Yuvraj Singh (6) off successive overs in his opening spell before dismissing Mahendra Dhoni (24), Ravindra Jadeja (57) and Harbhajan Singh for a duck.

Thanks to Jadeja and Praveen Kumar (54 not out) both knocked an innings-building half centuries and shared in a 74-run stand for the eighth wicket to lift the hosts, who were reeling at 74 for seven man back in hut. Skipper MS Dhoni (24) resisted hard to put on 48 with Jadeja for the sixth wicket but seamer Bollinger was in sound mood trapped him lbw.

Johnson – who was rested for the previous game, picked up three vital wickets including dismissing opener Virender Sehwag (6) and in-form Gautam Gambhir (zero) in the first over of the match and later dispatched Suresh Raina (zero).
