Sachin Tendulkar's fans in India may find it almost impossible to shake hands with their master-blaster. It is due to the high level security and popularity the international player has earned. But his fans and visitors at Madame Tussauds Wax museum in London will be able to put their arms around Sachin Tendulkar's statue and can have as many photographs they wish with their superman.
This was revealed by Seb Thompson, the PR official. "You can get up, close and personal with celebrities, icons and historical leaders in a fully interactive experience", he told Cricdb over telephone from London.
"The statue will be rested on the floor and special arrangements are being made for all statues to ensure no melting of wax", he further said. "The Indian team, during Twenty20 World Cup will be in England and the players will be invited to visit the museum", Thompson further added.
Interestingly, MCC museum at Lord's has photo portrait of Sachin Tendulkar on wall of Long Room. "Sachin Tendulkar's statue in Wax museum will obviously have more significance but the attraction of our museum will be no less either", Neil Prescott, the media official at Lord's said.
"We get more than 50,000 visitors every year and due to the Twnety20 World Cup in England and Ashes series thereafter, we expect more visitors to Lord's this year", Prescott said.
"The MCC Museum is the world's oldest sporting museum and, to this day, it remains both world-class and world-famous. We have record number of things collected from all over the world".
Sachin is being remembered in London's museums but sadly, the BCCI, world's richest governing body has no museum of its own. MCC's museum specialist Adam Chadwick had been invited for his valuable suggestions but the BCCI is yet to inaugurate the museum at its head quarter in Mumbai.
