Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) will be introducing a new idea to award cash prizes to the spectators coming to watch the two-test series against Sri Lanka to attract crowds to the longest version of the game. The first test will be played from February 21 at Karachi followed by the second from March first at Lahore.

"We have signed a sponsorship deal with Paragon City who will be providing us altogether Rs 800,000 for this purpose and we are delighted that now spectators coming to the stadiums will be getting cash incentives," said Director Marketing, Pakistan Cricket Board, Aamir Sohail while talking to APP.

Giving details of the sponsorship deal, he said, Paragon city will provide two cash awards each of Rs 25,000 for the first four day of both the test matches as 'Spectator of the Day'.

"We are working on new lines to fill the stadiums which are empty during the test matches and we firmly believe with such incentives we will be able to have some crowd at Lahore and Karachi," said the former Pakistan captain who is also the director of National cricket academy.

Aamir Sohail said in addition to these prizes, a pumper prize of Rs 200,000 will also be given to a lucky winner who will be the 'Spectator of the match'.

"I think fans of the game will like these ideas and all of them have the equal chance to win through a lucky draw at the end of every day play and on the final day of a test match," he said.

"We will be placing 15 drop boxes at each venue and through them we will be having a draw giving on the spot cash prizes," he said. Director Marketing said PCB is endeavouring to facilitate the spectators who will be coming to the stadium to watch the test matches. "We are confident of success of this idea and we look forward to make it a regular feature in every test match in future as well."
